Ever feel the need to have VIM use 4 spaces for the tab key instead of actually tabbing it. Well, fear no more. You need to configure the vimrc (or _vimrc) to add the following lines:
Its easy enough to find the process running on a specific port in linux using a combination of ‘netstat’ and ‘lsof’ but I found it rather interesting that Windows lets you do the same using a different (ish) set of commands:
-> cmd> netstat -a -n -o | find “port_number”
The last column of the result will point to the process Id (PID) of this port. To find the actuall process running, do the following:
-> cmd> tasklist /svc /FI “PID eq process_ID”
This can prove fairly useful if you are unsuccessful starting applications/processes because of ‘port already in use’ issues.
My colleagues at work have been asking me to try this game for a while but I have been hesitant in doing so as Sci-Fi RPG games is not really a genre I care as much about. Give me a sword and a dragon to slay any day but kill an alien with guns should be something left to a B Grade Sci-fi film.
I finally broke down and decided to get Mass Effect 1 from Gamestop Download (I refuse to use Steam). I have to say that so far I have been pretty impressed by the game. Its got an involving story line and the sheer enormity of the game is amazing. I mean I have spent 8 hours so far and have mainly been doing one section of the 3 quests that were given to me in the first hour of playing. And for a person who has borderline ADD its even surprising that I am still interested in playing it.
More to come in the near future ..
No really. I know we are all still waking up or still in deep slumber. But those on the road .. watch your freaking blind spots before trying to change lanes. If you are not done drinking your coffee chug faster .. or if you dont drink it at all then maybe it is time to consider starting.
Going on the idea from Winmore’s blog brought my yesterday’s Random Gun’Drak to my attention .. and not in a good way.
I was healing the Random with my Druid and was about 20 minutes in when I realized how much I hated this group.
- The Tank and one of the other DPS was from the same guild on a different server.
- The other two DPS from the same guild on a different server from myself and the tank.
Nothing ticks me off more in the morning (or any other time for that matter) than a person going under 60 in the passing lane on the highway.
Seriously .. its ok that you dont want to go over the speed limit. But if people are using the middle lane to pass you or even going to the express lane to go around you maybe you need a lesson in driving etiquette .. move the f*ck over.
I actually made a comment on my buddy’s weblog which had a post on the chemistry (or lack there of) of groups which are created using Blizzard’s Random Dungeon tool in WoW. My comment quickly went from a small comment to a full blown rant with a story to boot. I figure it probably deserves its own post so here goes:
.. a zillion years old. First it was my back. Now its my shoulder. I know I am out of shape but I am not really fat. Hell .. I am not even 30 yet (will be in 2 months though) and I feel like an OLD OLD MAN!!
If a regular ‘ipconfig/release’ and ‘ipconfig/renew’ does not work. The following can be tried for some XP (and possibly newer OS) machines:
You can reset TCP/IP stack to the installation defaults by:
netsh int ip reset reset.log
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults, type:
netsh winsock reset catalog
Reboot the machine.
The above can possibly help with issues of running into the 169.xx.xx.xx IP address showing up when run ‘ipconfig/all’.
